The home maintenance app we wished existed.
HomeBase started the day I moved out of an apartment and into my first home. I set down the last box, looked around, and my very first thought was, "I have no clue all of the things I'm supposed to be doing to keep this home running."
That feeling never really went away. Over the following months and years, I kept discovering things in my own house that needed ongoing care that I had never thought about before. A sump pump sitting in the basement. A generator out back. Filters and flushes and tune-ups on equipment I didn't know I owned until something started making a noise it shouldn't.
And then there were the guys. The plumber. The HVAC guy. The chimney guy. The septic guy. The lawn guy. The tree guy. The generator guy. Every new system in the house seemed to come with its own specialist, and I was quietly accumulating a phonebook of people I had called once, would need to call again, and could never remember the name of when I needed them.
I tried to get organized. I built a spreadsheet. One tab for providers, one tab for service history. It was a great system for about a month. Then life happened, an entry got skipped, then another, and pretty soon I was behind again and missing the things I had built the spreadsheet to catch in the first place. So I decided to build an app that would do it for me.
Our mission
Our mission is to make homeownership less overwhelming, and to help homeowners take better care of what is, for most people, their most valuable asset.
HomeBase keeps track of your providers, your service history, and what's due next, so you don't have to. You tell it about your home and the services that matter, and HomeBase keeps the math: what's due, what's overdue, who you called last time, and what it cost.
How we think about the product
Calm, not noisy
A maintenance tracker that pings you constantly is just another source of stress. HomeBase surfaces what matters and stays quiet otherwise.
Your data is yours
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with marketers. You can delete your account whenever you want. HomeBase is for the homeowners.
Built for all homes
Old houses, new houses, condos with HOAs, places with septic, places with oil heat, lawns and no-lawns. HomeBase adapts to what you have, not the other way around.
Useful before you ever log in
The product knows about hundreds of common home services. Once you tell it about your house, it can suggest the maintenance - even the stuff you didn't know about.
